This project was an exploration on family of form, seeking to design an elegant chess set that could be portable for outdoor playing opportunities. It was also journey into the world of casted components; learning to utilize elements like draft angle and 3D printing technology.

In the end, this chess set seamlessly blends materials and provides a cohesive front to consumers. The wooden pieces can be stored away inside of the concrete shells for transportation, and then just as easily be removed for play on the go.
