Exploration Sketches
To begin the process, I made a list of the problems I would like to touch on in the creation of this product. I wanted to address messy watering, pest problems, and the lack of space that people in apartments have. The main goal of this project was to create a plant pot that would be renter friendly, and not take up any floor or table space.
Final Sketches
At last, I landed on my final design. This wall hanging design would be space efficient for those in apartments, and address the issue of watering and accumulating gnats. The clear portion of the pot would allow for easy monitoring of water levels, and the containment of the water vessel would keep the pool from attracting bugs, like other watering systems do. The final design would be primarily wood and clear acrylic, for a modern look that would match a variety of interior decorating styles.
CAD Modeling
After landing on the final form of the design, I quickly moved on to modeling in Fusion 360. I made each part as a component and then combined them for final rendering.
